The Matandwe-Mwabvi Protected Area Complex (MMPAC) consists of the Matandwe Forest Reserve adjoining the Mwabvi Wildlife Reserve found in Nsanje District. The Department of National Parks and Wildlife (DNPW), and the Department of Forestry (DoF) have been managing these two ecologically connected areas as separate entities. The linking of the two reserves provides an opportunity for a collaborative management approach to manage the two protected areas as a single ecosystem. This will strengthen biodiversity conservation and enhance landscape connectivity.
